Show Off Show at Art Vinyl
The sixth installment of Show Off included our very own record launch for SO contributors Run Hide Survive. To celebrate the launch we invited a handful of our favourite artists and illustrators to exhibit a series of limited edition one-off artworks. In addition Melvin Galapon created a limited edition screen print that came with every record. Of course we also threw another kick ass party, this time at Vision Video with an incredible mix of sound and vision...

‘Untitled’, 2008. Giclee Hahnemuhle art print 12” x 12”. Chrissie lives and works in East London, drawing pictures, eating apples and not sleeping very much. She studied Illustration at the London College of Communication before a three year stint at zip design, but now works as a full time freelance illustrator. Her work is usually vividly technicolor, utilising pattern work and found images and often touches on themes of nature, possibly due to her leafy suburban upbringing. She has worked with an array of clients including Virgin, Orange, MTV, Nike, Nylon, The Barbican and The New York Times and has designed T-shirts for 2K, Urban Outfitters and Timberland. She is obsessed with typography, 70’s poster art and old photographs and would one day like to live by the sea. <a href="http://www.chrissieabbott.co.uk" target="_blank">www.chrissieabbott.co.uk</a>

HORT - a direct translation of the studio’s mission. A creative playground. A place where ‘work and play’ can be said in the same sentence. An unconventional working environment. Once a household name in the music industry. Now, a multi-disciplinary creative hub. Not just a studio space, but an institution devoted to making ideas come to life. A place to learn, a place to grow, and a place that is still growing. Not a client execution tool.
